The research reveals that Turmeric(Curcumin longa) has incredible qualities that help humans in a lot of ways. It has antioxidant qualities, anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic activity, support colon health, exert neuro-protective activity, help maintain a healthy cardiovascular system and can possibly enhance the cancer-fighting power.
According to a 2005 article in the Wall Street Journal, research activity into curcumin is exploding.

Researchers at the Cork Cancer Research Center in Ireland treated esophageal cancer cells with curcumin -- a chemical found in the spice turmeric, which gives curries a distinctive yellow color -- and found it started to kill cancer cells within 24 hours.
